Stephen J. Gould and Immanuel Velikovsky is a substantial 6" x 9" hard cover book of 835+ pages published by The Velikovskian in 1996, and contains selected papers by the leading planetary catastrophists.
Back Cover Many now think that the "Velikovsky Affair" has ended because of the exposure it received in the 1960's in the press and in several books. But the most amazing aspect of what is contained in Stephen Jay Gould and Immanuel Velikovsky is that the decidedly unprofessional shenanigans have continued. Led by a second generation of scientists, scholars, science writers and journalists, they have trod the very same path using the same outrageous, dirty tricks, the kinds of dirty tricks that were the undoing of Richard Nixon. In Stephen Jay Gould and Immanuel Velikovsky, the antics of Gould, Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, and several other notables are laid bare. One is led to wonder why for over 50 years the scientific and scholarly communities have been unable to deal with Velikovsky without resorting to the most callow and shallow of arguments with the ultimate aim of stifling scientific enquiry. If the scientists cannot be trusted, then to whom can the educated public turn? If the press will not deal with their behavior, what can be done?
